I received my #givemejesusjournal today and couldn’t be more excited!!! Be sure to check out my IG stories for a look through this journal. It is so well-designed and lovely to look at. It can definitely be helpful in our journey to abide in God’s Word. • 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Well done to @wellwateredwomen @wellwateredco (go to their profiles to see far more prettier pictures of this journal) and every person that serves at this most needful ministry. Thank you for your hard work and persistence (of course by God’s grace). May this ministry continue to encourage others to cling to God’s word. ♥️

I pulled this quote from a sermon by John MacArthur (on YouTube + the site of his ministry Grace To You) called, ‘Longing for The Word’. • There are so many pressures we put on our “quiet time” with God. -It HAS to be quiet. -It HAS to stir our hearts and emotions. -We HAVE to perfectly understand what we’ve just read. • The Lord meets with everyone of His children and their open Bibles. He sits with us and unearths what we could never see with our own eyes. And He does the work of sanctifying our hearts. • We always desire a higher level of spirituality or some victory over sin. But as Pastor John said to his flock, ‘there is no magic and there is no momentary emotional experience that will catapult us to some other level of spirituality.’ • God commands us to long for His word like newborn babies long for their mother’s milk (1Peter 2:2). • I think we complicate what is really simple. I think we think naturally about something that purely spiritual. • Cling to God and don’t let go. ♥️

Those sharp edges leads us to conviction that leads us to eternal life in Christ. • When Peter preached on the Pentecost he did not use words that would make his hearers more comfortable. Nor did he choose words that would make the Gospel any less offensive. “Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus who you crucified.” (Acts 2:36) And what was the response of these seemingly harsh words? Conviction! They were cut to the heart (v. 37) • How is the Gospel offensive? -There is no other way to eternal life but the Son of God. -Their is no other God but the Lord our God. -Everyone must appear before the tribunal of Christ. -We (mankind) are not essentially good as we’ve been taught. -We need Christ and He is not an option. -That we will have to provide an answer for how we’ve spent our time on earth. -Heaven isn’t something that God owes us. • With that said we are commanded to be gentle and respectful when sharing the Gospel (1 Peter 3:15). But too often our own fear of man is the cause of our habits of watering down the Gospel. We aren’t being gentle or respectful but we are troubled about saving ourselves. Saving ourselves from any mockery, disgrace or persecution. Our spiritually dead family members, neighbors, co-workers, etc. need to hear the whole truth. • The truth is that we are all sinners who deserve the wages of our sins, death. But God... who is rich in mercy sent His Son to live the life we could never live and to die the death that we all deserved. And when we believe on Him we are transferred from the death to life. • When our concerns are shifted to loving people well and not longing for their imperfect love, then we can tell them about the amazing hope we have in Christ

Anyone whom God has poured over the Holy Spirit has power from on high. Every woman, man, girl or boy with the mighty Spirit of God has POWER to be content with all that God has given them. A person who is clothed by the Spirit has POWER to walk in newness. A person that has the Spirit has POWER over any and every sin. Don’t let Satan discourage you from abstaining from those passions that you know will only wage war against your soul (1Peter 2:11). • Friends don’t be mistaken we are weak but He is strong. And greater is He that is in you, than him that’s in the world (1 John 4:4). This is why we need our swords (God’s holy and enduring Word, the Bible) because our enemy doesn’t want us to know just how EMPOWERED we are. And he wants us to forget just how faithful and good God is to fulfill every promise. He promised us a King and a Shepherd, FULFILLED. He promised that He would send the Holy Spirit, FULFILLED. • Never forgot who you are because of Christ. Never forget that His blood has brought us near and will keep us near (Ephesians 2:13). Even though this weekend we will worship with our church, let us always celebrate what Christ has accomplished. Because it is finished (John 19:30) and it should be marvelous in our eyes (Mark 12:11).

🅝🅔🅦 🅑🅛🅞🅖 🅔🅝🅣🅡🅨 I write about the term ”holy roller” and how Christians shouldn't be ashamed to be bold about their faith. • I also talk about my history of experience with the fear of man. And how this can often lead us to be ashamed of the Gospel. Even up to this week I've been thinking or pondering how certain people may feel about me. But I've learned to rehearse the truth to myself. I remind myself that I'm already loved (perfectly), accepted (completely, through Christ) and that I belong to God. • ”The message that the world or culture pushes out is that you can be unholy and ungodly and yet spend an eternity with a holy God that you don’t even know.” Read more on my blog. We often have to remind our wandering hearts that the LORD is our portion. • When God brought the Israelites into the promise land, there was a prescribed portion of the land for each of the twelve tribes of the Israelites. But it was told to Aaron and the priests that God himself would be their portion in the land of the living. • Do you think Aaron or the priests after him felt cheated? No! It was a blessing to serve in God’s sanctuary. • If God is our portion, then what do we lack? Our plans can crumble in our hands but we have Christ! We can lose everything we once thought we couldn’t live without, but we have Christ! Even though God has not yet given us what our hearts desire, we can pray and wait because we have Christ! To have the living God as our portion is to have what we need and much more. • What an honor it is to have, to hold and to know Christ. What an honor it is to be living temples of God and for everything we do to be holy work. • May we treasure Christ, lose our lives so that we may gain them and take joy in the Lord.
